Not always fun and laughter at my sessions...

Photobucket

Today I took pictures of a baby boy that was (surprisingly) born with a terminal condition. This baby boy isn't expected to live more than a couple more days.
Difficult is an understatement. Photography isn't always just capturing the good times. It's capturing life. Life can be really painful sometimes.

Sweetness

I had the honor of photographing her birth.  c-section.  It was amazing!  And I am loving watching her grow.  She takes after her big brother and sister - precious.  We enjoyed a rare, cool morning here in Austin.  Summer weather has snuck up on us too fast.   I'm thinking I might be doing a lot more early morning sessions this summer.  Otherwise I'll be finishing a photo session looking like I just finished jumping in a pool.  #sweatbigtime

Was a beautiful day for a wedding!

This little guy is their first and he reminds me so much of my first, except mine had about 50 more rolls of fat on his body. But, same coloring, same big blue eyes and I think mine even had a
pair of those birkenstocks.
Editing these pictures made me a bit teary eyed. It didn't seem like 14 years ago when I was holding my first. I loved him so much (yes, i still do) that I thought I would never put him down, never stop smooching his cheeks, never stop squeezing him, trying to make him giggle... I just adored him.
It's been too long since mine let me smooch his cheek, or pick him up and squeeze him. He's almost bigger than me and I have a bad back, so picking him up is really really a bad idea. ;-)

My weekend

I am thankful my weekend was packed with sessions because the weather was AMAZING!!!

Boys...

Photobucket

I LOVE boys. They are crazy, messy, rough, loud.... If my boys aren't filthy dirty by the end of the day and smell like 10 day old socks, they are ill. No doubt. And I love that. Makes me smile.
Photographing boys can always be interesting. Especially when they are young...and there is an infant involved....girl.  Sometimes it can end in tears - for the baby. Very rarely can I get the boys to sit and smile while holding a baby - seriously, males aren't the
best at multi-tasking.
BUT, it always makes for funny expressions and poses. These boys gave me a lot of fun material to work with. Precious, normal boy behavior. Thank you so much, Cari for letting me have the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family!
